About Dan Trimmer
Dan Trimmer, one of our newest coaches to the BYSC staff, is no stranger to the youth club scene nor spending time alongside D.O.C Shayon Jalayer.
Dan was part of the USL side, Los Angeles Fireballs, that Jalayer was selected as player-coach. It is during this time that both created a friendship and partnership that has lasted nearly 20 years. Trimmer accepted an offer to help Jalayer as his top Assistant at both ULV and California Baptist University. It is during this time that Coach Trimmer took on a dilapidated Bonita High School program and in the very same year won the conference and went all the way to the CIF finals, eventually losing in a thriller to Santa Margarita High School. Prior to this he coached at various High Schools including Etiwanda, Alta Loma and Upland.
In the club circuit he has coached both boys and girls at various clubs including serving as Jalayer’s Technical Director at their time at La Verne Lazers, Claremont Stars and most recent at the Arsenal Academy.
As a pro he spent time in the USISL, USL-Pro and in Hollands lower league with V.V. De Valk. He was recognized as a hard working, hard tackling, no-nonsense defender whose passion has now followed him into his coaching personality.
Shayon Jalayer comments: ‘It is with great enthusiasm that I have Dan working alongside of me again. The staff, his players, and families will appreciate Dan’s effort, passion and patience. He is a great teacher of the game and BYSC is better for his presence.’
