About Mehrshad Momeni

A former professional player, Momeni played in the top flight of Iran professional soccer. He played for PAS and arguably one of the best and most revered teams in both Iran and Asia, the Blues of Esteghal.

In 2011 Momeni made his move to the U.S. playing for the Los Angeles Blues who was then coached by BYSC Director of Coaching, Shayon Jalayer. The following season saw Momeni sustain an injury that kept him out most of the 2012 season. Upon returning in the 2013 season, Momeni was faced with a coaching change and franchise move, seeing the LA Blues moving to Orange County and rebranding as the OC Blues. There he played from 2013-2016. It was late in 2016 that he decided to retire and enter the coaching ranks.
