Julio Santos
A native of El Salvador, Julio migrated to the U.S. in 1982. It is during this time that he became immersed in the L.A. Latin soccer culture. He went onto play at Mountain View High School in El Monte where he was both the team captain and MVP. From 1989-1992 he attended Mt. San Antonio College where he scored an impressive 17 goals in 21 games. In 1992 he transferred to the University of La Verne, playing as both a striker and midfielder. In two years he scored 14 goals as well as tallying 11 assists.
The proud parent of two successful student-athletes, his son Cesar plays for Azusa Pacific University and his daughter, Priscilla, plays for Rider University in New Jersey.
As a player, Julio was recognized for his technical ability, high energy and passion. He brings the very same qualities to his coaching.
‘Julio has great maturity and experience in both playing and coaching. I feel with his experience we can really start to strengthen the foundation of our boys program and offer our younger players and families a first rate coach who has vast knowledge coupled with a teaching spirit.’
Julio is no stranger to the So Cal club circuit coaching for clubs such as Glendora Youth, La Verne Lazers, and LAFC.
